Vince McMahon reportedly held a meeting last week and told everyone that there will be no more wrestling during commercial breaks.
McMahon noted during last week's pre-Raw production meeting that matches can go through a commercial break, but in-ring action should not take place. Â
McMahon's feeling is that legitimate sports don't run through breaks, so WWE is adjusting their match presentation. This also may tie into FOX wanting WWE to present SmackDown as a more legit sports brand when it joins their network in the fall.
John Pollock of Post Wrestling revealed that there would still be two matches on SmackDown that would that run through the commercial breaks with the picture-in-picture feature that airs the match in one window and the advertisement in another.
This new directive from McMahon will likely see the company experiment with ideas to pause the matches and resume them when commercial breaks end.
