WWE Fastlane March 5, 2017

Welcome to WWE Fastlane. This is the final PPV on the road to WrestleMania. Tonight, Goldberg will challenge Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship. The winner will defend that title at WrestleMania. The monster among men, Braun Strowman faces the big dog Roman Reigns. Roman looks for revenge on Strowman for costing him the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. Bayley defends her Women's title against Charlotte and Samoa Joe looks to destroy Sami Zayn. We kick off with the WWE logo as we are seeing a video package to start the show. We see Charlotte and Bayley's Women's title match in the package in addition to Strowman and Reigns' match. We also see Goldberg and Owen's match in the package. Michael Cole introduces us to the show and we kick of with Sami Zayn V.S Samoa Joe. 

Samoa Joe V.S Sami Zayn 

This match came about when Sami Zayn was attacked by Joe as he was looking to make an impact on the Raw roster. We are seeing a video package of Joe's attack on Sami. Joe makes his way to the ring and he looks focused on destroying Sami tonight. The match is underway and Joe looks to strike early to take out Zayn. Joe kicks Sami in the chest and looks for a knee bar but Sami quickly gets to the ropes. Joe is stunned as Sami looks to wear him down. Joe comes back however, with a quick right hand to the jaw. Joe catches Sami again with a quick kick to the side of Sami's head. Joe locks in the bow and arrow followed by a chop continuing to wear Sami down.

Sami tried to fight back with punches but Joe takes him down with a leg sweep, stopping Sami's momentum. Sami hits Joe with a clothesline and this may be what Zayn needs to build momentum. He hits Joe with a Blue Thunder bomb but doesn't get a three count. Joe kicks Sami in the face with a senton but only gets a two count after the pin attempt. Joe gets a powerslam on Sami but only gets a two count as Sami refuses to stay down. Zayn goes for a cradle but only gets a two count. Joe is going for the muscle buster but he hits another kick on Sami. Sami looks to put Joe away but Joe slams him to the mat. Joe has the Clutch in and he has vanquished Sami Zayn tonight.

Winner: Samoa Joe 

Charlie Curruso interviews Bayley about her match with Charlotte. Bayley says she is nervous and the odds are stacked against her. However, she is up for the challenge. Bayley says that Charlotte should leave Dana in the locker room when Nia comes in saying she will take Bayleys title.

Gallows and Anderson def Enzo and Cass to retain the Tag Team Championship. 

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson V.S Enzo and Cass for the tag titles. Cass cuts a promo saying they didnt come to Fastlane saying that they remind Luke and Karl that they are sawft. Anderson and Gallows make their way to the ring for this match with a confident look on their face. Cass and Anderson start the match and Enzo comes in as they have control over Gallows and Anderson so far in the match. Luke gains control now as he punches Enzo repeatedly in the face to wear him down. Gallows comes in, slams Enzo has a submission locked in.

Anderson is back in and drops knees to Enzo, followed by a cover, which results in a two count. Enzo is trying to regain his vertical base but is stopped by Anderson. As Karl goes out the ring, Enzo bounces Luke's head off the ring post. Back in the ring, Karl continues to isolate Enzo from Cass as Gallows hits Enzo with huge blows. Enzo avoids an elbow from Gallows and avoids contact with Anderson. He makes a tag to Cass who shifts the momentum in the match by splashing Anderson in the corner. He hits the Empire elbow but kicks out after a roll up by Anderson. After a splash from Enzo, Gallows breaks up the attempted pin. The match is over after Enzo gets pinned, despite having his foot on the rope. Anderson had the pressence of mind to move Enzo's foot off the rope after Enzo suffered a kick to the face. That kick resulted in Gallows and Anderson retaining the titles. 

Winners Anderson and Gallows

Mick Foley is on the phone with Stephanie and she is upset with Foley saying that she can't relax despite Foley telling her to do so.

Coming up next, Sasha faces Nia Jax. Nia makes her way to the ring and she vows to breaks the boss tonight. Sasha makes her way to the ring and she is determined to take down the dominant Nia Jax. The match is underway as Sasha takes the fight to Jax. Sasha is sent into the turnbuckle and suffers a back breaker. Nia is bending Sasha's back over her knee in a submission hold. Nia manhandles Sasha and gets a two count following a pinfall attempt. 

Nia drives her knee into the face of Sasha while Sasha was leaning against the turnbuckle. Sasha is in another submission hold as Nia looks to make her tap. Nia threw Sasha across with ring, continuing to demonstrate her power and dominance. Nia Jax continues to work on Sasha's back and her confidence is growing immensely as the match goes on. She has Sasha's body bent over her shoulders. Sasha has a submission hold on Nia but will Nia tap out? Nia uses her power again but Sasha hits a DDT followed by a Banks Statement. Nia gets back to her feet and slams Sasha on the mat with great force. She splashes Sasha, compounding the pressure on Sasha's back Out of nowhere, Sasha rolls up Nia for the win. 

Wnner: Sasha Banks 

The announcers promote the show following Fastlane, which is Raw Talk on the WWE Network. Jinder Mahal and Rusev are now brawling on the outside as Jinder is facing Cesaro. 

Jinder Mahal loses to Cesaro 

The bell rings and we are underway. They tie up and Cesaro gets a waist lock on Mahal and then takes him down. Mahal sends Cesaro in the corner but Cesaro takes Mahal down again and stomps him in the chest. He goes for a cover following a gut wrench suplex. He then hits a back breaker followed by a two count on Mahal. However, Mahal gains control with knees to Cesaro and he uses the ropes to further his advantage. Mahal goes for a pin but gets a two count on Cesaro. Mahal continues to focus on the back of Cesaro but cannot put Cesaro away thus far. Cesaro tries to fight back but Mahal shuts him down with a knee to the gut. Cesaro is in trouble as Mahal has had control for the majority of the match. Cesaro somehow hits a suplex on Mahal and looks to gain momentum. Cesaro uses his uppercuts in an attempt to put Mahal away. Cesaro hits the swiss one nine and a crossbody, followed by a two count.

Rusev makes it to his feet, which distracts Mahal. Cesaro takes advantage and puts Mahal away. 

Winner: Cesaro

Rusev comes back in and dismantles Mahal. 

Rusev loses to Big Show

The bell rings and Rusev is shoved into the barricade. Back in the ring, Big Show continues to wear down Rusev. Big Show splashes Rusev in the corner, who is almost out. Big Show covers Rusev but doesn't get the three count. Rusev tries to fight back but cannot knock Big Show down. Big Show clotheslines Rusev but has his legs swept by Rusev. He now has Show in a submission but Show fights out of it and slams Rusev for a two count. Rusev is in trouble but takes Show's knee out and kicks him twice in the face. He kicks him one more time followed by a two count. Big Show chokeslams Rusev three times and follows it with a knock out punch. Big Show gets the win after the knock out punch.

Winner: Big Show

Kevin Owens is being interviewed about his match with Goldberg. He says that in the last decade Goldberg has beaten one man and that doesn't impress him. He says that he will outsmart and out wrestle Goldberg. He says that he will beat everyone and that he believe's he's the best. He says that this is the Kevin Owen's show for as long as he wants.

Jack Gallagher V.S Neville for the Cruiserweight title

We are seeing footage of the events that led us to this match.

The bell rings and the match is underway. They lock up and Gallagher tries to use his unique style to take Neville down. He works on the arm of Neville and plays mind games with him. Gallagher suffers a shoulder tackle and comes back with a drop kick sending Neville out of the ring, frustrated. Gallagher is sent into the barricade and suffers a drop kick from the top rope by Neville. Neville stomps Gallagher in the corner but Gallagher comes back with uppercuts. Neville hits a suplex followed by a two count after a pin attempt. Neville is using the referees count to wear Gallagher down. Neville has Gallagher in a submission but he fights back with strikes to Neville. Gallagher flies through the second rope to take Neville out. Gallagher hits a suplex off the top rope and gets a two count on Neville. Gallagher got hung up on the top rope and Neville is now in control of the match. Gallagher gets a two count following a roll up on Neville as he kicks out at the last second. Neville drops Gallagher on his neck, hits the phoenix splash but couldn't put Jack away. Neville comes back and beats Gallagher, retaining the title. 

Winner and still Champion: Neville 

The New day appears and say that they have brought a New Day bike. Coming up next, Roman Reigns faces Braun Strowman. 

Braun Strowman V.S Roman Reigns 

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring as he looks for revenge on Strowman. Tonight he has the opportunity to do that. Strowman strides down to the ring with a purpose and that is to destroy Reigns. The match begins and Strowman throws Roman across the ring with ease. Roman suffers an elbow from Strowman and is tossed out the ring. Strowman gets hung up by Reigns and he kicks Strowman in the face. Roman uses the steps to his advantage and clotheslines Strowman. Strowman drives Roman in the apron and drives him back into the ring. Reigns drives right hands into the face of Strowman who counters with a spine buster to Reigns. Strowman is now in control and applies a submission to Reigns. Roman tries a Samoan drop but couldn't deliver it and suffers one at the hands of Strowman.

Strowman has another submission on Reigns and continues to wear him down. Strowman strikes Reigns in the chest with clubbing blows, which compounds the pressure. Reigns gets back to his feet and clotheslines Braun, which does not do much damage. Strowman plants Reigns down on thee mat, regaining control of the match. On the outside of the ring, Strowman takes the announce table top off but Reigns sends him into the post. Roman is then sent back first into the post. Back in the ring, Strowman goes shoulder first into the turnbuckle as Reigns avoids contact. Reigns hits a Samoan drop but couldn't get a three count on Strowman. This is the turning point of the match. Reigns goes for the superman punch but Strowman stops it. Braun plants Reigns on the mat again but couldn't get the victory. Strowman looked to put Reigns away with a boot but got hung up on the top rope. He may have hurt his knee, as Reigns hits the drive by kick. Reigns went for the spear but Strowman caught him and slammed him through the announce table. 

Roman is back in the ring and hits a spear. However, Strowman kicks out at a two count after a pin attempt. Roman hits two superman punches but Strowman regains his balance and mauls Roman. Strowman is on the top rope and doesn't connect with a splash. Reigns his a spear and beats Strowman at Fastlane. 

Winner: Roman Reigns 

Mick Foley talks to Samoa Joe, reminding him that he is running the show in Stephanie's absence. Foley says that he doesn't want Joe to interfere in the Universal title match or there will be hell to pay. Coming up next, Bayley defends her Women's title against Charlotte. 

Bayley V.S Charlotte for the Women's Championship

As Charlotte makes her way to the ring, she is 16-0 in PPV matches. 15 of those matches have been for the championship. Bayley is now making her way to the ring. On Raw a few weeks ago, Bayley achieved her dream and became the Women's Champion. Her dream could turn into a nightmare if Charlotte regains the gold. The match is underway and they lock up as both Women look for an early advantage. Charlotte gets a one count on Bayley following a waist lock. Bayley takes Charlotte down and works on her arm. Charlotte hits a knee to the gut of Bayley, who comes taking Charlotte down with a crossbody. Charlotte catches Bayley with a clothesline on the outside. Back in the ring, Bayley comes back with an arm drag, taking her down. Charlotte now has control after driving Bayley's head down on the mat. 

Charlotte is using her leg strength to wear Bayley down and her confidence is beginning to show. Charlotte chops Bayley who comes back fighting. Charlotte hits a neck breaker and stomps Bayley in the corner. Charlotte goes for the cover and gets a two count. Despite Bayley kicking out, Charlotte is in firm control of this match. Charlotte goes to the top rope and hits a moonsalt followed by a senton, which results in a two count. Charlotte chops Bayley, which takes Bayley down to her knees. Bayley is now building momentum as she hangs Charlotte up in the second rope. Bayley hits a suplex and gets a two count on Charlotte. Charlotte is hung up on the rope as Bayley looks to put her away. She drops two elbows and Charlotte and ascends to the top rope. Knowing the danger she was in, Charlotte rolls out the way. Bayley takes Charlotte down off the top rope, hits an elbow and gets a two count. Charlotte sends Bayley out of the ring. Charlotte hits a big boot followed by Natural Selection, which doesn't put Bayley away. Bayley crashes to the floor. To win the title, Charlotte must pin Bayley in the ring. Sasha runs down to the ring and Bayley hits a Bayley to Belly on Charlotte outside the ring. In the ring, Bayley hits another Bayley to Belly, which leads to her retaining the title.

Coming up next, Goldberg challenges Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship 

We see footage of the interview between Seth Rollins and Corey Graves last Monday on Raw. Corey Graves reminds us that on Raw, we will see how Seth Rollins rehab is going. 

Goldberg def Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship 

Goldberg makes his way to the ring as he looks to become the Universal Champion. If he wins tonight, it will be the first time he's held gold since Armageddon of 2003. Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring with a confident look on his face. Kevin Owens has been champion since the end of August and he plans on heading to WrestleMania as champion. Kevin Owens takes a break as the match has not started yet. Owens is playing some mind games with Goldberg before the match starts. Jericho is here as the match begins. Goldberg hits a Spear and Jackhammer to become the Universal Champion. This means at WrestleMania we will see Goldberg take on Lesnar for the Universal title.
