As previously reported, Zack Ryder emerged victorious in the Seven-Man Ladder Match at Sunday night's WWE WrestleMania 32 event to become the brand new Intercontinental Champion, defeating Kevin Owens, Stardust, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Sin Cara, and The Miz.
However, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the original plans for the match called for Owens to be the one to emerge victorious, though it is unknown why WWE decided to move forward with Ryder. The only update is that plans were ultimately changed following Neville's ankle injury, which kept him from being able to take part in the match.
