It's been well-documented over the past couple of weeks that A.J. Styles will mostly likely be heading to WWE some time soon, although he has reportedly not yet signed a contract with WWE. Both the Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling promotions were very eager to keep "The Phenomenal One" on their respective rosters, and it's said that ROH offered him a very lucrative deal, at least by ROH/indy standards. Styles was reportedly offered a six-figure contract by ROH.
Styles has made it no secret that he wants to make as much money as he can in wrestling in order to provide financial security for himself and his family. According to a report from PWTorch.com, WWE has given Styles an offer that "blows away" whatever ROH and/or NJPW were offering him.
When Styles informed ROH officials about his offer from WWE, they pretty much gave up on trying to re-sign him and have removed him from future events that he was originally scheduled for. It's possible that a deal could be worked out that would allow Styles to do a farewell appearance for ROH, but aside from that, it appears as though the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion and NJPW IWGP Heavyweight Champion is bound for WWE.
