NJPW Star Has Two Front Teeth Knocked Out & Mouthguard Broken At ROH Field Of Honor

Alex Shelley, one-half of NJPW tag team The Time Splitters, had his custom made mouth guard and two front teeth knocked out on Saturday at ROH's Field of Honor event in  Brooklyn, New York, minutes into he and KUSHIDA's match with The Briscoes. The accident happened when Mark Briscoe delivered a knee to Shelley's face, those there say Briscoe's knee brace caught Shelley in the mouth and what they thought was "gum" came flying out, but it was actually his teeth.

Shelley has taken to Twitter to thank ROH, who will be covering the maintenance cost for his teeth despite him not being contracted to them and having no legal obligation to do so. Shelley also mentioned that he was dazed by the shot and apologized if the match was "subpar".

This was Shelley's first match in exactly three months after he had to pull out of NJPW's Best of the Super Junior's in May after suffering ligament damage and an avulsion fracture in his left foot.
