Kevin Owens has been dropped from the main event scene to an upper mid-card position according to Bryan Alvarez on today's Wrestling Observer Live.
Owen's who failed to capture the U.S. Championship from John Cena at WWE Battleground is being compared to the likes of Rusev, Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler and is not being viewed on the level of Cena, Randy Orton or Seth Rollins.
The U.S. title under Cena has been viewed as one of the main event storylines for the past several months, thus Owen's not being featured any more is seen as a drop down.
WWE has no plans as of this posting to feature Kevin Owens at Summerslam in five weeks, however, John Cena is scheduled to fight Seth Rollins.
