The Alternate Report: Who Should Win The Universal Title? (And The Story That Could Follow)

Tonight on Monday Night Raw four men will compete in a fatal four way match for the vacated Universal Championship, but who should win the match and the title?

Incase your unaware, the four men in the match will be; Big Cass, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. To start off I think it is important to not completely eliminate Big Cass from the match but I think it's fair to say that he will not be winning this one. Big Cass just isn't experienced enough as a champion to be able to win a World championship. Not to take away from his ability and his hard work. Although I do think that the reasons why they decided to put Big Cass in the match was to take the pinfall and also to give the audience the feeling that anything can happen in the WWE (In the new era).

Now we are left with three. I'm going to say straight of the bat that Roman Reigns should not win this match, even if it was through a heel turn. Whoever wins this match will be left with the responsibility to build the titles prestige after it being left vacated just 24 hours after the title was debuted. Roman Reigns is not that man. Let's just leave his suspension out of this and jump straight to his title reigns, Roman Reigns is a three time World champion with a combined reign that lasts less than 120 days. I personally think that the amount of days as the champion is more important than the amount of reigns, but to have three World title reigns that last less than 120 days is abysmal in my opinion. Roman Reigns will be a future Universal Champion, no doubt about it but it's not his time yet.

That leaves us with two. As much as I would love to see Kevin Owens win the title tonight, I don't think it's time. I would love to see him become a World champion in the WWE but for now I think that Seth Rollins should win the Universal Championship.

Both because he already has a solid World title reign under his belt which was cut short due to a horrific injury forcing him to vacant the WWE Championship. It would be nice to see him as 'The Man' again. Also I think that it's important to keep the story in mind, and what a great story it would be to tell.

Imagine if Balor returned at the Royal Rumble, coming out at number 30 and winning the Rumble, going onto Wrestlemania to win the Championship that he never lost against the man he defeated. To become the Champ again at Wrestlemania, creating the feel good moment at the end of the show when we are most likely disappointed by the rest of the card, but we would have that one moment to look forward to, to enjoy and look back on and be able to say that that's why we love wrestling.

I'm not sure if this is what you expected from this article, but when I sat down to write this I couldn't stop thinking about Balors' return and winning back the title.

Who would you like to see win the title? Why?
