Alberto Del Rio's Black Eye Reportedly Caused By Fight Involving Drew McIntyre

At Sunday night's WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event, World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio came to the ring for his title defense against Christian sporting a black eye and banged-up face.

The Wrestling Observer and CagesideSeats.com report that Del Rio's visible injuries are the result of an alleged real-life physical altercation that he had alongside Drew McIntyre "either last night or today."

Below are comments from Dave Meltzer regarding the situation:

"The black eye Del Rio will come out with and all the bruises on his face were the result of a fight either last night or today. Apparently Del Rio and Drew McIntyre ended up a big fight, I think with other people, and as far as what happened I don't know other than both were all beaten up when they showed up back at the hotel."

As of the initial reports, it is unknown whether Del Rio or McIntyre will face any sort of punishment from WWE officials for the alleged incident.

UPDATE: Alberto Del Rio was talking himself up and then he got beat up by three big guys. Drew had to break up the fight.

WrestlingNewsSource.com will post further information regarding this story as we receive it.
